Heb. 6:12, 13, 15; Rom. 4:23-24
The Promises Do Not Come
By Works - Rom. 4:1-3, 13
"If people could receive what God promised by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God's promise to Abraham is worthless, because the law can only bring God's anger. But if there is no law, then there is nothing to disobey. So people receive God's promise by faith” (Rom. 4:14-16a; The Everyday Bible).
1. Know That The Promises
Are SURE To Us.
"Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be SURE to all the seed....." (Rom. 4:16a)
"[He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise]." (2 Cor. 1:22; Amplified Bible).
2. Realize God's Promises Are Accomplished Facts.
"(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he belived, even God,......." (Rom. 4:17a)
"Whereby are GIVEN unto us exceeding great and precious promises..." (2 Pet. 1:4a)
3. Speak The Promise
Into Existence
"....even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things that be not as though they were." (Rom. 4:17b)
"Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, so shall they seed be." (Rom. 4:18).
"And being not weak in faith, he CONSIDERED NOT his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb." (Rom. 4:19)
"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith...." (Rom. 4:20)
".....but was strong in faith, giving glory to God." (Rom. 4:20b)"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, UNTO THE GLORY OF GOD by us." (2 Cor. 1:22).
"And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform."
