Take Back What The Devil Has Stolen

John 10:10

      1. Satan is a thief

      2. What does a thief do? He steals.

      3. Satan will rob us blind if we let him

      4. He has stolen from many of us. We must take back what he has stolen. It is possible to take back what belongs to us.

Matthew 12:26-29

      1. v. 26 -Spoil (KJV)

          1. Greek=Strong's#1283 – diapazo=To seize asunder; plunder. From Strongs#726 -harpazo=To (catch away), pluck, pull, take by force

          2. Hebrew=Strong's#798=To Plunder

      1. The New Testament: An Expanded Translation by Kenneth S Wuest translates v. 26 in this manner: "...how is a person able to enter the house of the strong man and carry off by force his household furnishings, unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house?"

      2. Webster's Dictionary definition of the word spoil – Spoil, pillage, plunder, booty, prize, loot, mean something taken by force or craft. Spoil...applies to what belongs by right or custom to the victor in a war or political contest.

      3. Basically, "spoil" means to take by force or plunder whatever the enemy has. The implication that Jesus gives us here is that we can spoil-plunder what is presently under Satan's power. We have authority to take back what rightfully belongs to the kingdom of God.

Genesis 1:26-28

      1. Subdue

        1. Hebrew=Strong's#3533-kabash=To conquer, subjugate, violate -Bring into bondage, force, keep under, bring into subjection.

      1. Webster's Dictionary – To conquer and bring into subjection.

      2. Satan attempted to steal from God (Isa. 14; Ezek 28). God commissioned Adam to take back what belonged to Him.

          1. God gave Adam dominion (authority)

          2. Adam was to use that dominion to bring God's enemies into subjection.

          3. If there were no enemies then there would have been no need for God to Adam to SUBDUE the earth.

          4. Instead of Adam subduing the earth, he surrendered it into the hands of his enemies (Gen. 3:1-7; Luke 4:6-7)

Col. 2:15; Luke 11:21-22

      1. Jesus has proven that He is stronger than the devil and has "spoiled" the principalities and powers on our behalf. Therefore we are not fighting to gain victory. The victory belongs to us LEGALLY but we must have it experientially by applying Satan's defeat to every area of our lives.

      2. After Jesus' death, burial, ressurrection, and ascension, He gave authority to the church to fulfill this same purpose. We are to actively take back from Satan what rightfully belongs to God and His church. We are to remind Satan of his defeat at by the blood of Jesus.
