I first preached this sermon in the beginning of 1997. It was so well received that I decided to transcribe it and put it into book form, while adding further insights that I was not able to give in the sermon.

I had intended to make this into a booklet and self publish it so that I would be able to distribute it freely. Though I had done all of the work in Microsoft publisher (putting it into book form), the cost of trying to do self publishing was more than I could handle financially at the time.

Thanks to the advent of the world wide web I am now able to make this available to anyone who would benefit from it's message. I have made it available in TWO formats - PDF and HTML. I wrote this book in 1996 and submitted the manuscript to one publisher who sent me a very well written REJECTION letter. Not being as persistent as I probably could have been I did not persue any other book publishers and just let it sit in my "wait until a better day" file. Now that I have my own web site and since I believe that I should be able to give free to others what the Lord has given me, I have decided to convert the files to HTML and place it here for all to read and print to their heart's content.

In this book I am dealing with some common traditional teachings in the church that have kepts many Christians from receiving all that the Lord has for them. I have never seen some of these subjects dealt with extensively by other great men in the body of Christ and felt the Lord would have me to show His children what His Word truly teaches concerning these areas.

Though I first wrote the book in 1996 I have added some updated information and insights that the Lord has given me since then. For example, I had only included one quote by A.B. Simpson in chapter seven of the book. Since then I have read other material and I found that it would be appropriate to quote from them. For example, I knew nothing about the error of Marcion when I wrote chapters eleven and twelve. After finding out about his heresy only this year I felt that it would be good additional information to include in these chapters. The Practical Application Of God's Word

This started off 1988 as a series in a quarterly newsletter for a ministry I was liscenesed with. I later put it in my own monthly newsletter that I distributed. These lessons seemed to be well received so in 1992 I put it all together and published it as a pamphlet. I have always seemed to get a good response from those who read it. Unfortunately, I did not have too many copies of it printed and gave away my last one on New Year's this year. But alas, that's what the internet is for.

The premise of the two lessons in this little book which is now online for your perusal and distribution is to simply teach us how to live in line with the Word of God. In other words, we do not want to just read the Bible for the sake of reading alone, but to apply it to our everyday lives. Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Messiah, told us that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. I pray that the lessons here will inspire any who read it to do just that.

Basics For Believers Bible Study Outlines

There are thirty lessons in all covering a wide range of topics, all in outline form.

I prepared these lessons while teaching a weekly class at a church I attended some years ago. I have often been amazed at how little foundations many Christians have. Due to this need, I put together these outlines and began to teach them in my weekly class and they were well received.

Another church I attended decided to use these outlines for their youth ministry. I believe that you will find these outlines simple and that they cover a wide variety of topics that all believers should be grounded in. Use them to study, teach or even preach.
