Lesson Twenty Eight: End Time Events (Part One)

I. Jesus tells us The signs that will preceed His coming for the church.

1. Matt. 24; 2 Pet. 3:3-6; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 4:1-4

2. Many of these things are happening right now in our time. We can see the coming of Jesus drawing nearer and nearer. Should we not take time to get our house in order.

II. The pre tribulation rapture of the church.

1. 1 Thess. 4:16-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; Rev. 3:10; Phil. 3:20-21; Rev. 6:17; 1 Thess. 1:10; 5:9-11; Rom. 5:9; 2 Thess. 2:1-4; Mark 13:32-37.

a. We have presented you with an abundance of scripture on this subject because there is false teaching that Christians will have to go through either half or all of the tribulation which shall come upon the world. These Scriptures prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christians will escape the tribulation.

III. Typology proves a pretribulation rapture.

1. Noah and his family escaped the judgemnt that came upon the rest of the world.

a. Luke 17:26-27; Gen. 7:1-12; 2 Pet. 2:5

2. Lot, Abraham's nephew escaped the judgemnt came upon Sodom and Gomorrah.

a. Luke 17:28-30; 1 Pet. 2:6-9; Gen. 19:29

3. It stands to reason that if Noah and Lot were delivered from the judgement of their times, you and I will be delivered from the judgement that will come in our time.

IV. The Judgement Seat Of Christ

1. During this period, Christians will be judged for the deeds done in the body.

a. Rom. 14:10-12; 1 Cor. 3:9-15; 9:27; 4:5; 2 Cor. 5:10.

b. This will be a judgement of service for rewards, not a judgement of condemnation. There will be people who will make in to heaven but may not receive any rewards due to lack of service for the Lord.

CONCLUSION: There is much speculation and false teaching concerning end time events. This is one of many subjects that tend to cause confusion in the body of Christ. Some teachers teach these things in a way that promotes fear rather than faith. It is vital to look to the Scriptures to see what they have to say about end time events rather than what man says. The Scriptures are very clear concerning these things. There is nothing for the born again believer to be afraid of. On the other hand, there is much for us to look forward to.
